Urban Seniors Jobs Program (USJP) Track
These informative and interactive sessions will be facilitated by NUL”s USJP Programmatic
(Priscilla J. Edwards - National Director, Lakindra Askew and Valerie Bazelais, Program Managers) and Fiscal staff (Triva John Thomas, Programs Fiscal Director) and an external consultant (Elizabeth White, Author of “55, Unemployed and Faking Normal”). Aspects of all sessions will reinforce SCSEP (Senior Community Service Employment Program Grant guidelines and provide an opportunity for attendees to share and to learn from each other. Workshops will provide attendees with instructive, insightful, and above all practical ideas they can implement to improve service delivery and goal outcomes when serving Older Workers.
Sessions will cover: Challenges of the Aging Workforce; Introduction of a Best Practice Model for Serving Older Workers in coordination with or absent the SCSEP grant; the Art of Case Noting; Process Mapping of the USJP Enrollment and Exit Process; Integrating Programmatic and Fiscal goals using a Spending Analysis Tool; Gauging Participant Needs using an Innovative Game Assessment Tool called “OneLifeTools”; Infusing Motivation in every day Program Operations, and ending with a Roundtable discussion where each affiliate will share a program challenge and receive feedback on successful strategies used by peers and NUL staff to address such challenges.
